LI-BIRD will work through the following three strategic
programmes at different levels of engagements (household,
community or landscape) to achieve the overall impact goal of
the organization.
Strategic Programmes:

Agriculture Innovations for Livelihood Security: Tailoring solutions to food, nutrition and income needs of farmers. The goal of the programme is to improve livelihoods of impact group through increased food security, nutrition and income.

Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for Sustainable Livelihoods: Empowering farmers for managing resources at the community and landscape levels. The goal of the programme is to secure livelihoods of impact group through integrated management of agriculture, biodiversity and ecosystem services.

Community Resilience to Climate Change: Building adaptive capacity and mainstreaming climate smart development. The goal of the programme is to enhance adaptive capacity and resilience of impact group to climate variability and change through synergies between land use based adaptation and mitigation.
Cross-Cutting Themes:
We have identified three cross-cutting themes as necessary and significant for informing and delivering programs related to other themes and thus strengthening the effectiveness of our strategic programmes.

Social Research and Policy Advocacy for Inclusive Impacts: To contribute to programme effectiveness and favourable policy change for our impact group through inclusive project design and evidence-based advocacy.

Gender Equity and Social Inclusion: To mainstream equity and inclusion of women and disadvantaged groups in our programmes and workforce.

Knowledge Management and Capacity Building for Wider Impacts: To contribute to programme effectiveness by facilitating documentation, learning, knowledge sharing and trainings.
